Notice is given pursuant to the Local Government Act (LGA) that a Public Hearing will be held for the proposed Phased Development Agreement.

Any correspondence received in response to this Notice will be distributed to Council and may be included in the Council Agenda package and published on the District of Lake Country website. 

PURPOSE
The purpose of the proposed bylaw is to enter into a Phased Development Agreement for specified properties owned by MACDONALD LAKESHORE PROPERTIES LTD (the Developer), as legally described below and shown on the accompanying map.

The proposed Phased Development Agreement (PDA) is intended to: 

  • establish a clear, comprehensive framework to guide long‑term development while ensuring alignment with District objectives for infrastructure, environmental protection, housing diversity, and public safety,
  • direct the development of future phases of Lakestone for a period of 20 years,
  • allow for 882 residential units and 7,310m2 of commercial space within the future phases of Lakestone in accordance with the CD3 – Comprehensive Development 3 (Lakestone) Zone, 
  • replace the existing 2012 Lakestone Master Plan, and
  • allow the PDA to be assigned to a subsequent owner of the land(s) provided that the subsequent owner is subsidiary corporation of the Developer, or to any other person / corporation if the District of Lake Country agrees to the assignment.

WHEN / WHERE
Council is scheduled to hold a Public Hearing for Phased Development Agreement (Lakestone) Bylaw 1318, 2026 at the May 5, 2026, Public Hearing Meeting which will be held at Municipal Hall, 10150 Bottom Wood Lake Road at 5:30 pm.

Relevant information will be available:

  • for review at the Municipal Hall, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding weekends and statutory holidays.
