A Freedom of Information (FOI) request is a request under FOIPPA for all records for a specific period of time related to an incident, file, application, complaint, etc.
If you are requesting information for someone else‘s property or on someone else’s behalf, the FOI request must include a signed Owner's Authorization Form [PDF/181KB] or the MLC or letter of offer.
FOI requests are $30 per hour with the first 3 hours free. Commercial applicants, such as insurance or law firms, pay the actual cost of providing the service. Fees may be waived if the fee is unaffordable or if the record is in the public interest. Please note there is no guarantee requested information will be available; this will be confirmed upon completion of the file research.
For all details about FOI requests, please refer to the Information Bulletin [PDF/133KB].
