District Projects

District Projects

A District (or Capital) Project is an initiative that helps maintain, improve or replace the District's assets, which are often referred to as public infrastructure. Typically, capital projects are guided by master plans and are forecasted in a 5 Year Capital Plan. Many assets have specific lifecycles, and long-term capital project planning is part of robust asset management to ensure uninterrupted service delivery. District assets include roads and fleet, water systems, sanitary sewer and stormwater systems, buildings and parks and trails. The District’s Capital Projects are typically delivered by either the Parks, Recreation and Culture or the Infrastructure and Development Engineering departments, and are aligned to Council's Strategic Priorities.
