Lake Country, BC – The District of Lake Country is advising residents of an overnight closure of Woodsdale Road between Turtle Bay Pub & Marina and Seymour Road, beginning Thursday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m. and ending Friday, November 6 at 7:00 a.m.
The closure is required as part of the ongoing Woodsdale Watermain Connection Project, with crews installing a new watermain beneath Woodsdale Road. The work has been scheduled overnight to minimize disruptions to daytime traffic, school buses and public transit.

Traffic and access impacts
During the closure:
- Woodsdale Road will be closed to through traffic between Turtle Bay Pub & Marina and Seymour Road.
- The southbound Highway 97 left-turn lane onto Woodsdale Road will also be closed.
- District staff and traffic control personnel will coordinate access for properties on Woodsdale Court and at the Wood Lake RV site.
- Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and follow posted traffic control signage.
Woodsdale Road will return to single-lane alternating traffic once the overnight work is complete.
BC Transit Route 23 Detour
BC Transit Route 23 will be temporarily detoured via Bottom Wood Lake Road and Highway 97 during the closure.
The detour will affect six trips on Thursday evening, November 5, and three early-morning trips on Friday, November 6. The detour will add approximately 3.5 kilometres to each affected trip.
Transit riders are encouraged to check BC Transit rider alerts for the latest service information.
The District appreciates the community's patience and cooperation as crews complete this important water infrastructure work.
