Woodsdale Watermain Connection

On October 19, the District will start a watermain construction project which involves the installation of new watermain infrastructure along portions of Woodsdale Road, Woodsdale Court, Petrie Road, and Robinson Road.

Water service interruptions are not anticipated as part of this work. However, traffic disruptions and temporary access changes will be required during construction. For safety of all workers, please adhere to signage and traffic control personnel during all phases of construction.

Oct. 19 - Nov. 10th:

Woodsdale Road will be reduced to single lane alternating traffic between

Etheridge Road and Woodsdale Court

Etheridge Road will be closed at the Woodsdale Road intersection. Residents requiring access to or from Etheridge Road should use Reimche Road as an alternate route.

Residents exiting Seymour Road and Woodsdale Court onto Woodsdale Road will be required to yield to oncoming traffic and restricted to left turns only.

Project Location and Traffic Impacts - please watch District social media channels for ongoing updates as construction scheduling is subject to changes due to weather and site conditions

About the Project:
The Woodsdale Watermain Connection project will connect the existing water systems on either side of Highway 97 to support anticipated growth in the Woodsdale area. The new connection will increase available water capacity, improve fire protection, and provide an alternate water supply route during maintenance or emergency repairs thus improving the overall resiliency and redundancy of the water system in this area.

About the Area:
The area is a known area of interest and significance for the Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) and the Westbank First Nation (WFN). The District is grateful for the participation of our peer governments and for the archeological monitoring that will be in place.

Winfield Creek is recognized as an important waterway, and an environmental monitor will be present when the project requires creek crossing and any vegetation disturbances.
