District news and public notices

LAKE COUNTRY, BC – The District of Lake Country is advising residents of upcoming construction and traffic impacts associated with the Woodsdale Watermain Connection Project, scheduled to begin October 19 and continue through December 2026.

The project will connect the existing water systems on either side of Highway 97, increasing water capacity to support future growth in the Woodsdale area. The connection will also improve available water capacity for fire protection and provide an alternate water supply route during maintenance or emergency repairs.

Construction will take place along portions of Woodsdale Road, Woodsdale Court, Petrie Road and Robinson Road.

Traffic impacts

Single-lane alternating traffic and temporary road closures will be required throughout construction, with the most significant impacts anticipated between October 19 and November 10, 2026.

During this period, residents and motorists can expect the following traffic changes:

  • Woodsdale Road: Single-lane alternating traffic between Etheridge Road and Woodsdale Court from October 19 to November 10.
  • Etheridge Road: Closed at the Woodsdale Road intersection from October 19 to November 10. Motorists should use Reimche Road as an alternate route.
  • Seymour Road and Woodsdale Court: Drivers exiting onto Woodsdale Road will be restricted to left turns only and must yield to oncoming traffic during this period.
  • Petrie Road: Single-lane alternating traffic from November 1 to November 10.
  • Woodsdale Court: Additional access impacts are anticipated later in the project. Affected residents will be notified directly once details are confirmed.

Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, use alternate routes where possible and follow posted traffic signage and directions from traffic control personnel.

Water service interruptions are not anticipated during construction.
