Before Dear Evan Hansen and The Greatest Showman, there was Dogfight. This musical put Oscar, Grammy, and Tony-winning duo Pasek & Paul on the map. Based on the 1991 Warner Brothers film, Dogfight is a romantic and heartbreaking theatrical experience that lingers long after the final curtain call.

It’s November 21, 1963. On the eve of their deployment to a growing conflict in Southeast Asia, three young Marines head out for one final boys' night full of debauchery, partying, and perhaps a little trouble. But when Corporal Eddie Birdlace meets Rose, an awkward and idealistic waitress, he enlists her to win a cruel bet with his fellow recruits. Rose, however, rewrites the rules of the game, teaching Eddie the true meaning of love and compassion. (www.mtishows.com/dogfight)

With creative partnerships at the core of Bear Theatre’s values, this production will be co-produced by The Creative House and directed by Angela Quinn, a member of the Casting Society of America (CSA), the Casting Directors Society of Canada (CDC), and a voting member of the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television (ACCT). Featuring a live band and music direction by contemporary Canadian music writer and musician Neville Bowman, Dogfight will showcase some of the Okanagan’s strongest musical theatre talent among its cast and crew.

Don’t miss this moving and powerful show that brings together raw emotion, timeless music, and unforgettable storytelling.
