Planning and Development Applications:

Development Variance Permit | DVP00431 | 11011 Hallam Dr.
Council approved a variance allowing the existing home at 11011 Hallam Drive to be retained as an accessory suite when a new home is built on the property. The variance increases the maximum permitted size of the accessory suite from 90 m² to 148 m², allowing the existing home to remain rather than be demolished.

Zoning Amendment | Z0000332 | 3091 Reimche Rd.
Council gave first, second and third readings to a zoning amendment for 3091 Reimche Road to support a future 14-unit townhouse development. Before the bylaw can be adopted, several requirements must be completed, including measures to provide separation and landscaping between the development and neighbouring Agricultural Land Reserve lands, provide future access between adjacent properties and dedicate land for road improvements.

Departmental Reports:

Development Project Updates
Council received an update on several development-related projects underway following adoption of the District's new Official Community Plan. Work includes developing an enhanced on-site septic policy, updating environmental development permit guidelines, developing an Accessibility Plan and beginning a comprehensive review of the District's Zoning Bylaw.

Provincial Consultation | Ministry of Agriculture and Food | Discussion Paper on Food Processing
Council directed staff to send a strongly worded letter to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food outlining concerns with proposed provincial changes that would allow more food processing facilities on Agricultural Land Reserve lands. District concerns include potential impacts to agricultural land, increased demand for municipal infrastructure and potential new monitoring and enforcement responsibilities for local governments.

Main Street Tax Revitalization Amendment Bylaw 1336, 2026
Council gave first, second and third readings to an amendment to the Main Street Tax Revitalization Bylaw. The existing program provides municipal tax exemptions intended to encourage development along Main Street, and the amendment introduces an expiry clause to the program. Existing tax exemption agreements entered into before the expiry date would remain in effect for their full term.
