Automatic and manual irrigation of lawns, ornamental plants, flowers, and shrubs is limited to two days per week based on your address. These measures apply to all properties connected to the District of Lake Country water system, regardless of municipal boundaries.

As of the end of August the forcemain pipe installation in nearly complete and tie-in's to existing infrastructure are being installed. This project is being completed by the District of Lake Country in-house construction and operations team, and the site is being managed by the District's Construction Superintendent in conjunction with Engineering staff. On Monday Aug. 24th the first tie-in was successfully completed, with crews working over the night to minimize disruption and risk while pipe flows are typically at lowest volume.
The Lodge Rd. Sewer Forcemain Partial Twinning project is being constructed to increase system capacity and provide critical redundancy through the installation of a second, upsized, forcemain parallel to the existing forcemain. The forcemain is being installed from the Lodge Road lift station to the intersection of Lodge Rd and the rail trail, following adjacent to the rail trail to the McCarthy Rd. egress, then east along the egress.

Alternate Route Rail Trail detour:
For public safety, efficiency of construction timelines and availability of equipment and crew, 900 metres of the rail trail, between Lodge Rd. and McCarthy Rd,remains under detour during week days only throughout construction. For trail users, alternate routing is available via Lodge Rd. and Bottom Wood Lake Rd. using the regular roadways and sidewalks.

A forcemain refers to a pressurized pipe that conveys wastewater. In this case, pumps at the Lodge Road Lift Station pump wastewater directly to the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The District currently has one central lift station, located on Lodge Road, that pumps the entire wastewater collection system flow to the Wastewater Treatment Plant through a single forcemain. This single forcemain has reached capacity. This second, upsized forcemain is being constructed to accommodate increased capacity demands. The District intends to upsize the remaining section of the forcemain in a future phase to further increase system capacity and redundancy.
The project is being completed in phases to align with long-term infrastructure planning and future development in the area. The current phase addresses the highest priority section for increased capacity and redundancy, while allowing the remaining section to be coordinated with future road and development works.
Yes, a small section of the Okanagan Rail Trail between Lodge Rd and McCarthy Rd will be closed weekdays and will be open for passage during the weekends. On weekdays, users can detour around the closed section via the regular roadways and sidewalks. The project will not disrupt the surface or paved section of the trail.

Yes, a closure of Lodge Road is required from approx. 10850 Lodge Rd. to Meadow Road on August 17 - 19. Traffic control measures will be in place. Additionally, a closure of transit stop #103666 is required, and transit users are asked to use nearby stop #103664 at Meadow Rd. or stop #103673 at Quail Rd. during this disruption. For the safety of the travelling public and the construction team the community is asked to please adhere to all traffic control requirements.
The project was initiated in 2025, identified for construction in the District's 2026 budget and approved by Council in the District of Lake Country Financial Plan. Funding was allocated from the Sewer Capital Reserve and from Sewer Development Cost Charges (DCC). See the specific budget request details for additional information.
