District of Lake Country Advances Business Park Initiatives

Type(s)
District news and public notices

The District is working to build a stronger community and to shape Lake Country’s future - making Economic Development an ongoing priority.

Lake Country Business Park (formally known as Glenmore Industrial Lands) surged forward in 2025. The Area Structure Plan (ASP) which consists of 200 acres is nearing completion. In 2026 new zoning (a mix of commercial/industrial/residential) for the business park will be presented to Council – opening the opportunity for the business park to be rezoned and eventually developed. Rezoning land = change of use. The Lake Country Business Park could be one of the largest rezoning projects undertaken by a B.C municipality in decades. Not only will the business park address the shortage of industrial and commercial land in the region but will be a key to diversifying the local economy.

“On our own and in collaboration with our partners we will diversify Lake Country’s tax base, and create a complete community with economic opportunities and economic prosperity for those who call Lake Country home”. Council Strategic Priorities

Lake Country Business Park, Copperhill and Bubna rezoning initiatives will all contribute to the growth and tax diversification of Lake Country.

Small Town Feel, Big Possibilities.

To highlight rezoning, new opportunities, and business-friendly policies – the District is putting the spotlight on Lake Country. Getting in front of investors in a variety of industries, from around the world. InvestLakeCountryBC.ca was developed as a tool to showcase Lake Country and to provide the business community with an investment platform.  Tools on the website include Hotel and Retail Analysis Report,  Investor Package and access to the Lake Country Investor Dashboard.

2026 is going to be an exciting year and we look forward to reporting back to the community on the Economic Development progress.
