Get ready for the 2026 ParticipACTION Community Challenge. This national competition to find Canada’s most active community comes with a top prize of $100,000 for local physical activity initiatives. The challenge runs from June 1–30, 2026.
Grand Prize: $100,000 awarded to Canada’s Most Active Community.
Regional Prizes: $5,000 to $10,000 awarded to the most active community in each of the remaining 12 provinces and territories.
Did you know? In 2025, Lake Country came in 8th place in BC! Out of approximately 400 communities, Lake Country placed 50th. For the size of the community these are great results!

Moving more and sitting less is made easier when we do it together. There are tons of opportunities to stay active as our community gets back into the swing of things with the return of many amazing events, community recreation and outdoor activities.

How to participate in the challenge
Participating is easier than you think! Expand the sections below to learn how to register for the ParticipACTION challenge.
Register your organization or active group on the Community Challenge web portal from now until June 30 by clicking the button below
Once registered, you can then start to add your organization’s or active group’s June physical activity and sport programs, initiatives and/or events.
As of June 1, track the number of people who participate in your programs, initiatives and/or events. Each time you track participants, it contributes to your community’s score and chances of being named Canada’s Most Active Community and winning funds to support local sport and physical activity initiatives! Plus, each time a registered organization, school or local government records the number of participants that took part in one of their June programs, initiatives or events, they will be entered into a weekly draw to win one of two $500 cash prizes.
Note: All tracking must be inputted by June 30, 2026. For accurate tracking, please ensure the postal code is correct for each activity/event.
Invite your friends, family and/or co-workers to join the Challenge! When they register their active group or organization, you’ll both be entered into a draw for a chance to win a prize.
