Nominations for Local Government Office 

Notice is hereby given that nominations for the office of:

  • One (1) Mayor to be elected at large
  • Two (2) Councillors to be elected at large 
  • One (1) Neighbourhood Constituency Councillor for Carr’s Landing 
  • One (1) Neighbourhood Constituency Councillor for Okanagan Centre
  • One (1) Neighbourhood Constituency Councillor for Oyama 
  • One (1) Neighbourhood Constituency Councillor for Winfield 

Nomination packages can be delivered to the Chief Election Officer (CEO) or designated person by hand, mail or other delivery to the District of Lake Country Municipal Hall at 10150 Bottom Wood Lake Rd, Lake Country, BC V4V 2M1 or by email to [email protected]

Nomination packages will be accepted between 9 am, Tuesday, September 1, 2026 and 4 pm Friday, September 11, 2026. Nominations will not be accepted after 4 pm Friday, September 11, 2026. Contact [email protected] to book an appointment to file your Nomination Papers. 

Nominations for School Trustee 

Notice is hereby given that nominations for the office of: 

  • One (1) School Trustee for Electoral Area 1. Zone 1 of School District No. 23 (includes Central Okanagan East and Lake Country)

Nomination packages can be delivered to the CEO or designated person:

  • At the District of Lake Country by hand, mail or other delivery at District of Lake Country Municipal Hall at 10150 Bottom Wood Lake Rd, Lake Country, BC V4V 2M1, by email to [email protected] or by fax to 250-766-0116
  • At the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) By hand, mail or other delivery at RDCO at 1450 KLO Road, Kelowna, BC V1W 3Z4, by email to [email protected] or by fax to 250-763-0606

Qualifications for Local Government Office

A person is qualified to be nominated, elected and to hold office as a member of local government if they meet the following criteria: 

  • Canadian citizen
  • 18 years of age or older on General Voting Day
  • Resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed
  • Not be disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in BC or being nominated for, being elected to or holding the office, or otherwise disqualified by law

Qualifications for School Trustee 

A person is qualified to be nominated, elected and to hold office as a School Trustee if they meet the following criteria: 

  • Canadian citizen
  • 18 years of age or older on General Voting Day
  • Resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed
  • Not be disqualified under the School Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in BC or being nominated for, being elected to or holding the office, or otherwise disqualified by law

Campaign Period Expense Limits

All candidates have expense limits that apply during the campaign period, September 19, 2026 to October 17, 2026. Each election area and office has its own limit based on the office and population of the election area. In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2026 general local election, the following expense limits apply during the campaign period:

Third Party Advertising Limits

Directed advertising expense limits are specific to an election area and apply to advertising about a candidate or elector organization and apply during the campaign period, September 19 to October 17, 2026. In accordance with Local Elections Campaign Financing Act for the 2026 general local elections, the following third-party advertising limits apply:
