Public Service Announcement and Invitation

Residents of Lake Country and the wider Okanagan are invited to take part in an upcoming community conversation focused on recognizing and responding to intimate partner violence.

Awareness to Action: A Conversation on Intimate Partner Violence will take place Wednesday, March 25 at 7 p.m. at Creekside Theatre in Lake Country, presented by Lake Country Health and the RCMP. The event is free to attend, though guests are asked to reserve a ticket in advance.

The evening will explore how intimate partner violence often goes unnoticed and how community members can better recognize warning signs and support those who may be experiencing abuse. Organizers say many people want to help but feel unsure how to intervene safely or appropriately.

Through discussion and expert insight, the event aims to move beyond awareness toward practical action—equipping friends, family members, coworkers and neighbours with knowledge and strategies to respond with compassion and care.

Organizers emphasize that intimate partner violence affects not only individuals but also families and communities, making it a shared responsibility to address. The event is intended as an inclusive space for anyone interested in learning more or contributing to a safer community.

Admission is free, and residents are encouraged to reserve tickets online in advance.
