The District of Lake Country is embarking on an important journey to update its Official Community Plan (OCP), a foundational document that guides growth, development, and community priorities over a 20-year horizon. As our community evolves, so must our vision - and we want your voice to be part of it.
Let’s grow Lake Country, together.
What Is the OCP?
The current Official Community Plan (2018–2038) outlines strategic goals, objectives, and policies that shape decisions made by Council, staff, and the public. It reflects the values and aspirations of Lake Country residents and interest holders—and now it’s time to revisit and refresh that vision.
What’s Changing?
The District has initiated a general review and update of the OCP to reflect the significant changes our community has experienced since 2018, including:
- Population growth and increased development
- Housing affordability challenges
- Environmental hazards and climate resilience
- Evolving municipal service needs
- Economic diversification and community safety
