Lake Country, B.C. – Exploring everything Lake Country has to offer just got easier.
The District's tourism program has officially launched new social media channels under the Visit Lake Country brand, giving residents and visitors a new way to discover local experiences, events, businesses and hidden gems throughout the community.
Visitors can now follow @visit_lakecountry on Instagram and Facebook at facebook.com/visitlakecountry for local recommendations and event information.
Starting July 1, the Mobile Visitor Centre will also be travelling throughout Lake Country every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in July and August, helping visitors make the most of their time in the community.
Community Visitor Specialists, with firsthand knowledge of the area, will be available to share recommendations on everything from wineries and Farm Gate Trail experiences to beaches, trails, dining and family activities.
“Lake Country has so much to offer, and our goal is to make it easier than ever for people to discover the experiences that make our community special,” said Ruth Sulentich, Economic Development and Tourism Specialist for the District of Lake Country. “Whether you're visiting for the day, hosting out-of-town guests or looking to explore your own backyard, our Community Visitor Specialists can help connect you with local businesses, attractions and experiences that fit your interests.”
The Mobile Visitor Centre will be onsite every Friday from 3 p.m. at the Lake Country Farmers Market and Live! in Lake Country at Swalwell Park.
On Saturdays, followers can take part in the new “Where Are They?” social media series, where clues will reveal the location of the Mobile Visitor Centre as it pops up at local businesses throughout the community. Visitors that attend the location in person can enter to win the daily draw prize provided by the business.
On Sundays, the Mobile Visitor Centre will visit some of Lake Country's most popular parks and beaches between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., including:
- July 5 – Beasley Park
- July 12 – Pebble Beach
- July 19 – Pioneer Park
- July 26 – Swalwell Park
Visitors looking for inspiration can also visit VisitLakeCountry.ca to explore the Farm Gate Trail, discover local restaurants and attractions, and plan their perfect day in Lake Country.
