Ban on open burning and campfires remains in effect

Type(s)
District news and public notices

Due to continued dry conditions and recent fire activity in the Central Okanagan, the ban on open burning and campfires remains in effect. While cooler temperatures have arrived, the region has not received sufficient rainfall to reduce the fire risk to safe levels.

Local fire departments will reassess the ban as conditions evolve. At this time, no date has been set for lifting the restrictions. We thank residents and visitors for their continued cooperation and vigilance in helping prevent wildfires.
