I was born and raised in this amazing town. I attended elementary school in the most beautiful school on earth, Oyama Elementary, and graduated from George Elliott Secondary. I grew up working in my family's construction company, where I learned the importance of fiscal management, hard work, responsibility, and respect.

After attending college in Vancouver, I returned to Lake Country almost 20 years ago to start and build a business with my wife of 20 years. That same work ethic carried into building our business together, and working with my wife has taught me the importance of open and honest communication.

In my life I have seen our population boom and our roads crumble. I have seen Main Street transform from an orchard into what it is today — a series of empty lots. I believe Lake Country is more than just a bedroom community for Kelowna; it's unique, with a special energy all its own. Through sustainable development guided by council, fiscal prudence, and honest consultation with the community, I want to help protect the needs and character of our small community as we grow — not just in the short term, but for generations to come.

Having grown up in Lake Country, I have seen the incredible transformations from the 1980s through to today. To me, at its core, Lake Country is still the same small town from when I was young. My focus is keeping the small community feel that we all love, while allowing strategic growth for maximum community benefit.
I believe in steady, financially prudent upgrades. I want clean drinking water, manageable taxes, and opportunities for ALL ages and demographics. My parents and my kid live in LC and their needs are not necessarily the same. I want steady, predictable local government that can be a reliable partner with upper levels of government and the private sector to maximize benefits to the entire community. The world is crazy right now but Lake Country doesn’t have to be. We have a safe, beautiful, community-oriented town. That’s the Winfield I knew. That’s the Lake Country I know. And that’s the Lake Country I hope to see for generations to come. I hope you will trust me once again to represent you as your Councillor At Large.

Bib currently serves as Councillor at Large for Lake Country. In addition, he also balances his District role with being the Retention Manager at Evergreen Maintenance. His career spans more than 18 years across customer success, revenue operations, purchasing and procurement, general management, and sales, giving him a broad, grounded perspective on how organizations serve the people who depend on them.
That same approach shapes his work on Council: building relationships, listening closely, and finding solutions that lift the community or move it forward.
Before settling in Lake Country, Bib brought that same commitment to community through nonprofit involvement with organizations including TEDxCalgary, Classroom Champions, and Timeraiser, work that reinforced his belief that strong communities are built through consistent, hands-on engagement.

My family and I have called Lake Country home for the past six years; I love the slower pace, the beautiful outdoors, and being part of a community that values family. I live here with my husband and 2 kids and currently run a program called Barn Buddies, a farm-based program created to support family wellness, connection, and early learning.
My work has always centered around children, families, and connection. I have worked as a certified horseback riding instructor, in management and as a family support worker with a Diploma in Counselling. I'm especially passionate about mental health and the importance of supporting parents and children during the early years. I'm happiest outside, surrounded by nature and animals, or spending time with my family.
I love raising my family here, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community we call home.

I've been coming to Carr's Landing since I was five years old. My grandparents had an orchard in Winfield, and I spent every summer of my childhood out here working on it. I moved to the Okanagan for good fifteen years ago, and to Carr's Landing two and a half years ago, to live in the place I loved as a boy.

I'm the general manager at O'Rourke Family Estate and Peak Cellars, and I've spent over a decade in the Okanagan wine industry. I grew up in Manitoba, where my mother ran a small municipality, so I've been around council chambers most of my life.

What I care about here is simple: a road my kids can walk on, fire protection we can count on, water we can drink, and a council that tells you plainly what things cost and asks what you think before it votes. This valley has been good to me. I'd like the chance to give some of that back.

I am seeking a second term as Lake Country Councillor for the Okanagan Centre Ward. My husband and I have lived here for nearly 25 years and chose to raise our two teenage girls in the place we love. I am deeply committed to continuing to help shape a strong, vibrant future for our community.

What drew my wife, Donna, and me to Lake Country and the Okanagan Centre area was the strong sense of community, quality of life and the balance between rural character and the amenities we value.

I’m a semi-retired business leader and consultant who has spent my career working with businesses large and small. My professional experience has taught me how to lead thoughtful change, seek efficiencies and reduce costs, while working with people to find practical solutions to everyday challenges. Even in semi-retirement, I continue to look for opportunities to put that experience to use, work with people and make a meaningful difference in the things I’m part of.

Out in the community, you’ll often find me exploring local trails or swimming with our two Duck Tollers, playing pickleball with the Lake Country Pickleball Club, or spending my summers as part of the Ambassador program at Predator Ridge Golf Course.

Todd McKenzie is a current Councillor for the District of Lake Country,

I’m Kristi Reich—a proud mother of two beautiful children, a local entrepreneur, a former restaurateur, and someone who believes deeply in choosing quality over quantity and building a healthy, happy community.

After nearly a decade of living in Lake Country, I’ve spent a great deal of time listening to residents’ concerns, examining how our municipality currently operates, and developing creative, out-of-the-box solutions for some of the challenges we face.

I will speak out against one-size-fits-all housing mandates at the UBCM convention. It is time for municipalities to reclaim their voices and advocate for solutions that reflect local realities.

Residents do not want councillors who simply follow the direction of others. They want representatives who listen, lead, and stand firmly behind the needs of Lake Country.

Wilbur Turner is a parent, student advocate, and experienced public educator. He has volunteered on two successful local school trustee election campaigns and has been a guest lecturer at UBC Okanagan for the past 13 years. Wilbur holds an honorary Doctor of Laws from UBC Okanagan and a humanitarian award, both in recognition of his community contribution. He is the founder and president of a national charity and has served on multiple nonprofit boards in the Central Okanagan and beyond, including the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra and Okanagan Housing Cooperative.

You do not have to live in the jurisdiction for which you are running. To run for local government office, you must: 

• Be a Canadian citizen, 
• Be 18 years of age or older on General Election day
• Have lived in BC for at least six months before nomination day and
• Not be disqualified from being nominated, elected or holding office

• Should only be erected once nomination papers have been filed (September 1 to 11, 2026)
• Are considered Election Advertising
• Must include an Authorization Statement  
• Do not require a permit from the District
• Can only be a maximum of 1.0m2 or 10.76 square feet

Election signs may:

• be placed on private property, with permission of the property owner
• be placed on Highway and District right of way as long as they do not, in any way, obstruct traffic or pedestrians. 

Election signs must not :

• be within 100m of a polling station on voting days (view 100m maps here [PDF/210KB])
• in any way, pose a hazard, interfere or obstruct traffic or pedestrians
• be placed on the Rail Trail
• be placed or attached to a traffic control device, curb, sidewalk, post, pole, hydrant, median, bridge or tree

REMOVAL OF SIGNS
Signs must be removed by owners the day after General Voting Day, October 18, 2026 or they will be removed by the District and the owner will be invoiced for the cost of removal.

Signs in contravention of the rules be removed by the District and the owner will be informed of the reasons for removal.

Candidates or sign owners are responsible for complying with all applicable legislation, bylaws and advertising rules.

The Province of British Columbia, Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs has helpful videos and guides outlining what's involved.

You must register at the time of voting by providing 2 pieces of ID. Picture ID is not required. At least one piece of ID must contain your signature. ID must prove identify and that you are a resident of Lake Country. 

The following documents can be used:

• ICBC registration/insurance
• Citizenship Card
• Property Tax Notice
• Credit or debit card
• a utility bill 

Eligible Voter figures are calculated using ArcGIS (Esri) and Environics Analytics data tools that incorporate Statistics Canada, BC Stats and other statistics such as housing growth. Census data determines the number of residents 18 and older and BC Stats provides estimated population figures between census years. 

Population and estimated Eligible Voters figures for the 2026 General Local Election. 

Any qualified elector (or non-resident property elector) may vote by mail. 

To vote by mail, complete the Mail Ballot Application and Registration Form [PDF/194KB] before 4:00 p.m. Thursday October 15, 2026.  Non-Resident Property Electors must also complete the NRPE Application to Register Form [PDF/100KB] and NRPE Consent Form [PDF/78KB] if 2 or more property owners are registered on title.    

Mail ballots will be delivered as soon as the ballots are printed after the nomination period (late September).

Mail ballots can be picked up at the Municipal Hall by you or another authorized person. They can be sent through regular mail to a residential address or couriered at your expense. 

Ballots can be dropped off, mailed or couriered to the District of Lake Country at 10150 Bottom Wood Lake Road, Lake Country, BC V4V 2M1.  It is your responsibility to ensure the completed ballot is received at the Municipal Hall no later than 8:00 p.m. Saturday October 17, 2026.

If you own property in the District of Lake Country but reside elsewhere in BC, you may qualify to register and vote as a non-resident property elector in the upcoming election.

Only 1 person registered on title may vote per property AND that person requires written consent from a majority of all others listed on title in order to vote. 

If you own more than one property in the District of Lake Country, you can only register for one of the parcels.

If a company, corporation or trust is registered on title, no individual is eligible to vote as a non-resident property elector for that property. 

Non-resident property electors must be:  

• 18 years of age or older on general voting day;
• a Canadian Citizen;
• a resident of BC for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration;
• the registered owner of real property for at least 30 days before the date of registration;
• not disqualified from voting under the Local Government Act or any other piece of legislation; and
• not entitled to register as a resident elector of the municipality.

How do I register to vote as a Non-Resident Property Elector?

• complete and submit the NRPE Application to Register Form [PDF/100KB]
• complete and submit NRPE Consent Form [PDF/78KB] if 2 or more property owners are registered on title 
• provide 2 pieces of ID proving identity and residency (see acceptable identification)  
• submit proof of ownership of the real property located in the District of Lake Country

Note: ID proving identity and residency can also be used as proof of ownership.

You can register in advance at the District of Lake Country offices or at the time you are voting.

To vote as a resident of Lake Country you must be: 

• 18 years of age or older on general voting day
• a Canadian Citizen
• a resident of BC for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration
• a resident of the District of Lake Country
• not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or otherwise disqualified by law. 

To vote as a non-resident property elector (NRPE), you must be: 

• 18 years of age or older on general voting day
• a Canadian Citizen
• a resident of BC for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration
• an owner of real property in the District of Lake Country for at least 30 days immediately before general voting day
• You must not be entitled to register as a resident elector

The figures under votes cast indicate the total number of votes cast in each ward and do not specify the number of votes received by the winning candidate. 

Figures for At Large may exceed total no. of voters as electors vote for up to 2 candidates.
