The District of Lake Country is working to reduce barriers to accessibility for all citizens. Individuals with varying abilities may find it hard to access to local services, enter public buildings or use public transit. With advice from the Lake Country Access and Age-friendly Committee, the District continues to identify, remove and prevent barriers for people with disabilities in order to be a welcoming and inclusive community.

The Lake Country Fire Department maintains a confidential database of residents with disabilities to provide assistance during an emergency situation. To ensure your safety during an emergency, it is vital that firefighters are aware of your individual needs. Should you wish to register, please call the Fire Administration at 250-766-2327.

View the Lake Country Age-Friendly Living Guidelines which encourage all to help create a vibrant community that promotes social and physical accessibility for all ages.
