Planning and Development Applications:

Development Permit | DP001111| 3130 Berry Road
Council approved a proposal to turn the property at 3130 Berry Road into a new shopping area with four buildings, including a grocery store and other businesses. The site will be redesigned and rebuilt to fit the new layout, with parking, walkways, and access from nearby roads, while keeping it safe and easy for vehicles, bikes, and pedestrians. Staff will also update legal agreements on the property to improve traffic flow and ensure the design and uses match current planning goals.

Development Permit | DP001113 | 11910 Willett Road
Council approved a proposal to redevelop the waterfront property at 11910 Willett Road with three commercial buildings, including a restaurant, spa, and rental business. The project must meet several conditions first, like arranging nearby parking, confirming environmental approvals, and finalizing plans to stay within property boundaries and protect the shoreline.

Official Community Plan | OCP00064
Council gave first reading to the updated Official Community Plan (OCP) that will guide how Lake Country grows and develops until 2045. The plan focuses on things like housing, transportation, the environment, and economic development, and was shaped by public feedback and technical studies. Before it’s finalized, it will go through more steps, including reviews by other agencies and a public hearing where residents can provide input.

Departmental Reports:

2026-2027 BC Transit Annual Operating Agreement
Council approved signing the yearly agreement with BC Transit to keep local bus services running from April 2026 to March 2027. This ensures no changes to current transit services and keeps routes in Lake Country operating as usual.

Affordable Transit Pass Program (ATP) and Emergency Transit Assistance Program (ETAP)
Council supported the idea of joining two programs that help make public transit cheaper or free for people who can’t afford it, starting in 2027. One program would offer discounted transit passes, while the other would provide free passes in emergencies for people in need.

Bylaws for Adoption and Readings Following a Public Hearing

Zoning Amendment to CD3 Zone | ASP00005 | Lakestone
Council approved changes to the zoning rules to allow small multi-unit housing (like townhouses or similar) in certain controlled development areas. The update sets clear limits for things like building height, size, setbacks from property lines, and required open space for residents.

Phased Development Agreement | ASP00005 | Lakestone
Council approved amending the Lakestone phased development agreement to include the new zoning rules for small multi‑unit housing (CD3) and read the bylaw a third time. This ensures the long‑term development plan for the area follows current provincial requirements and local zoning changes. The bylaw will be forwarded for ministerial approval prior to considering adoption.
