Lake Country, B.C. – The District of Lake Country has adopted its 2026 Tax Rates Bylaw, setting the municipal property tax rates to support local services, infrastructure, and community priorities in the coming year.

For 2026, the municipal tax rate reflects an overall 5.49 per cent increase in the residential category, down from the 5.75 per cent increase originally projected during the 2026 Financial Plan process. For the typical single-family home, this represents an increase of approximately $156 per year on the municipal portion of the property tax bill.

The finalized rates support Council’s approved 2026–2030 Financial Plan and help fund essential services residents rely on, including policing, fire protection, road and infrastructure maintenance, parks and recreation, and planning services that support responsible growth.

Growth in Lake Country’s business and light industrial sectors helped broaden the tax base and reduce pressure on residential taxpayers.
