Lake Country, B.C. – The District of Lake Country has made several updates to the free Summer Shuttle Pilot Program following its first weekend of operation, helping make the service easier to use while continuing to evaluate the eight-week pilot.

Beginning Friday, July 17, the Summer Shuttle will also provide free transportation to and from Live! in Lake Country at Swalwell Park. The Friday evening service operates from 5:30 p.m. to approximately 10:30 p.m. using two shuttle routes:

Route 1

  • Beasley Park ↔ Swalwell Park
  • Jack Seaton Park ↔ Swalwell Park

* The Summer Shuttle alternates between these two locations throughout the evening

Route 2

  • Oyama EV Charging Hub/Carpark ↔ Swalwell Park

The service is designed to make it easier to attend the concert while helping reduce parking demand around Swalwell Park.

The District has also updated the Saturday and Sunday Summer Shuttle service, including:

  • Blue and Green Routes: Two shuttle routes now travel the same loop in opposite directions, allowing riders to choose the route that gets them to their destination more quickly.
  • Updated route maps and schedules: New maps and timetables are available to help riders plan their trip.
  • Improved shuttle stop signage: Larger shuttle stop signs have been installed throughout the community to make designated pickup locations easier to find.

The Summer Shuttle Pilot Program remains free to ride and complements existing BC Transit service. It continues to operate on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

As this is a pilot program, the District will continue to monitor the service throughout the summer and make improvements where appropriate. Riders are encouraged to share their feedback through the online survey to help inform future transportation planning and Council's consideration of whether to continue or expand the service.

The Summer Shuttle Pilot is funded through the District's Climate Action Reserve using non-tax revenue generated through the sale of electricity from the District's hydroelectric plant.
