District news and public notices

The District of Lake Country, community partners, volunteers, and local enforcement agencies are inviting residents of all ages to participate in Lake Country Road Safety Awareness Week, taking place in conjunction with Go By Bike Week, May 30 to June 5, 2026.

Throughout the week, residents are encouraged to choose active transportation whenever possible and help make Lake Country’s roads and multi-use pathways safer for everyone — whether walking, cycling, scootering, jogging, driving, or rolling.

“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility,” organizers say. “This week is about education, awareness, courtesy, and community connection as we work together to create safer streets and pathways for all users, including wildlife.”

A variety of free events, educational activities, safety checks, volunteer rides, and awareness initiatives will take place across the community.
