Community News

To ensure delivery ahead of the potential Canada Post strike later this month, the District of Lake Country would like to let the community know that 2025 Property Tax Notices will be mailed out this week. Any property owners that have selected e-billing through MyLakeCountry.ca will be receiving their 2025 property tax notice May 12 via email.

The property tax due date is July 2, 2025. In the event of a Canada Post strike, the due date for property taxes does not change. As such, property owners are encouraged to avoid mailing payments. To ensure your payment is received on time, and to avoid a late payment penalty, please consider one of the following payment options:

  • Through your financial institution in person, or using internet or telephone banking
  • In-person at Municipal Hall (cash, cheque, debit – check your daily transaction limit, or Visa/MasterCard - note credit card payments include a 2% system fee)
  • On the MyLakeCountry.ca eServices web platform using credit card (2% system fee)

Eligible property owners can apply to claim their Home Owner Grant immediately through gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant or 1-888-355-2700.

Please review both sides of your property tax notice and accompanying Tax Brief for more information. If you have questions, please call 250-766-5650 or email: propertytax@lakecountry.bc.ca

We recognize your time and finances are important, so if you haven’t already created a profile on MyLakeCountry.ca we invite you to do so at your earliest convenience, and link your property tax, utilities, and business licence accounts to it, so you have access to the financial information including invoices and payments for each account from the privacy and security of your own device 24/7. Plus, by selecting eBilling you will be saving paper and mailing costs and get convenient early access to your account details.
