Request for Information

A Request for Information (RFI) is a request for building records for a specific property. These requests are usually from realtors, homeowners or builders. If available, the following records are provided in response to an RFI:

-Building permit (includes plumbing permit and blasting permit) 
-Final inspection report
-Location survey
-Occupancy permit 

The District does not guarantee the availability of information for all files. 

Making a request for information

You must be the homeowner or have written authorization from the homeowner to get access to records. If you are requesting records about someone else, on behalf of someone else or about someone else's property you will require a signed owners authorization form [PDF/181KB] or a signed realtor sales contract, Municipal Lien Certificate (MLC) or letter of offer.

To make a RFI email building@lakecountry.bc.ca and attach any applicable forms.

Cost: RFI requests are $40 plus GST. Files will be sent electronically between 5-10 business days.

The following records may be available under a RFI for actual cost: 

  • BC Housing Registration New Home Warranties (HPO)
  • Letter of Assurance - Schedule A, B's (B1, B2), C-A
  • Construction drawings/engineering drawings which may include:
    • Architectural
    • Elevation
    • Plumbing
    • Structural
    • Electrical
    • Mechanical
    • Truss & Joist 
    • Site plan

*If floor plans are included, these must be reviewed with the Corporate Officer prior to release. 

The District does not guarantee the availability of information for all files. 

The District reserves the right to withhold or redact (black out) information to protect personal privacy or information that may be harmful to business interests of a third-party.
