Sidewalk Concerts more info

Effective May 7th, the District of Lake Country is accepting participation request applications for our new Live! In Lake Country Sidewalk Concerts in 2020.

If 2020 was like previous summers, we would have been launching our large public format outdoor summer concerts in the Lake Country parks, but we have made significant changes to the 2020 concert series to accommodate physical distancing while ensuring we offer free community concerts to residents of Lake Country. These 20-30 minute concerts will be hosted on the sidewalks and public spaces in front of your property. It’s a free show just a little closer to home – and you need to submit an online participation request application for a chance at being chosen to host a Sidewalk Concert.

We have talked to ten different performers including Ben Klick, Poppa Dawg, Opera Kelowna, Cod Gone Wild,  Sista B, and others who are willing to come to our sidewalks, cul de sacs, and public spaces within the District of Lake Country to perform a short concert in front of your home. We will be scheduling these shows to happen during June, July and August on Wednesday or Thursdays nights at either 6pm or 7:30pm.

As you can imagine there is a lot of logistical planning to make this happen, so we have a short window to accept applications (participation requests). The applications open May 7th and will close on May 18th. Please go back to the main landing page at to select the APPLY NOW link or click here to use the online form to apply (link removed when applications are closed) to have a performer come to your sidewalk this summer.

For those interested, we do expect that we may get more applications than we are able to fulfill so we will be selecting as many as we can. We do encourage you to submit strong applications working with your neighbours to ensure physical distancing for the host, neighbours and performers.

As you can imagine, a show request that envisions an audience of two compared to an application to perform in front of a care facility of 40 seniors will have different considerations – and we need to ensure that we are providing a live performance and not a party.

We look forward to entertaining you this summer!
