Join Lake Country Health and Creekside Theatre In Support Of Mental Health this Fall 2021 |
Creekside Theatre reopens this fall to once again bring the Lake Country community together to enjoy music, comedy, magic, film, and theatre. Yet amidst our joy of shared theatre experience and laughter, we must acknowledge that the last year and a half has taken a toll on the mental health of many within the community. While the need for positive discussion around mental health has long been needed, this need has increased since the beginning of the pandemic. In March, Statistics Canada released the results of a survey on COVID-19 and Mental Health, from September to December 2020. The document shares: “The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly altered the daily lives of most Canadians. There has been ongoing concern that the impacts of the pandemic, such as increases in social isolation, job and income loss, and difficulties meeting financial obligations, could be affecting mental health.” Statistics Canada goes on to say that: “One in five Canadians screened positive for symptoms of depression, anxiety or posttraumatic stress disorder” These results strongly speak to the need for communities to acknowledge and encourage positive conversation around mental health.
To open the dialogue between local families, community leaders and experts, Lake Country Health will hold a special screening of the documentary “Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety” on October 7 at 7 PM. Created by iNDIEFLIX Education, this documentary has sparked a global conversation about anxiety. This powerful 56-minute documentary discusses the difference between “being anxious” and having an anxiety disorder as well as delving into all aspects of our society’s most common mental health challenges with:

Multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter Elise Trouw coming to Creekside June 2018 |
Known for her impressive drum skills, and multi-instrumentalist abilities, Elise Trouw has captivated listeners with her sound, her versatility, and unique stylings. “I started playing keyboards at six, drums at ten, and guitar at 12. I have been doing the multi-instrumental thing out of necessity: early on I couldn’t afford to hire all these musicians to back me up so I just did it myself.” It was such versatile skills that allowed her to release her debut singles for Pacific Records in 2016, and release her official debut album Unraveling in May 2017, singing and playing all the instruments herself. "Playing everything on the album allowed me to explore the role of each instrument in the writing process and recording process. It was also just a fun challenge for me to do this!" Like many young adults, Trouw found her following on Instagram and by uploading videos that generated more than a million views therby landing her a spot on Jimmy Kimmel that aired February of this year. Her parents, father from South Africa, and mother from New York, were very supportive of her musical pursuits over the years, providing Trouw with piano lessons, drum kit and lessons, and enrolling her in School of Rock which allowed her to grow as a musician and perform with others. Raised on The Carpenters, Green Day, and 80's New Wave, mixed tapes, Trouwe recalls that "inspiration struck when my six-year old self first heart the haunting piano melody in "My Immortal" by Evanescence. Trouw's passion and dedication for the honing her musical craft eventually led to her early graduation from high school in order that she could focus on fully committing to music and releasing the album. "I realized I could pursue a music career when I started putting myself out there. I always knew I wanted to be a musician, but the reality of it became more clear as my fan base grew and I began connecting with other people interested in music," Trouw stated in an interview with Dan Peeke from GIGSoup. Heavily influenced by the likes of Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Jimi Hendrix, The Police and others, Trouw's music will take a listener on a journey through 80's nostalgia funk sounds, impressive drum and guitar solos, unique singer-songwriter-esque piano riffs, exploration of unusual yet flowing time signatures and rhythms, to that of an alternative feel—all performed by one artist.
Elise Trouwe is an up-and-coming artist not to be missed and whose music is bound to make a mark. Tickets for her performance at Creekside Theatre on Monday, June 4th at 7:30 PM can be purchased online. Tickets also available at the door and for purchase from the Kelowna Tickets outlet at Orchard Park Mall, at Tourism Kelowna visitor centre, or at the Customer Service counter at Lake Country Municipal Hall daily from 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Canada's "best comedic storyteller" Damonde Tschritter - November 2016 |
Rounding out the Creekside Comedy Series, Tschritter is set to take the stage on Saturday, November 26th at 7:30 pm. Balsdon, an experienced comedian himself, has been part of the comedy world for the past 15 years both in performance as well as promotion of events. Eager to expand Train Wreck Comedy events further into the Okanagan scene, Balsdon was happy to discuss the upcoming event and his future plans for Train Wreck Comedy. How long have you been involved in the live comedy industry? What's your background? When did you first form Train Wreck Comedy? What was the inspiration behind the name? What made you decide to start Train Wreck Comedy? For the upcoming show 'Damonde Tschritter' at Creekside Theatre what can people expect? Why did you decide to expand into Lake Country with this comedy series? What is the vision for Train Wreck for the future? What do you hope to accomplish by expanding your brand into Lake Country? As a performer yourself, what has been one of the funniest/noteworthy moments of your career in comedy? My second noteworthy moment came at a Train Wreck Comedy Open Mic show at O'Flannigan's Pub in downtown Kelowna, when former Toronto Blue Jay and current Blue Jays announcer, Greg Zaun sat front row with his wife to celebrate her birthday. I couldn't help but focus on his reaction while I was on stage and at the end of the night he and his wife came over and chatted with me about the show, baseball and so much more. It was an awesome night I will never forget. What's been one of your biggest highlights to date with Train Wreck? One of my most memorable Train Wreck Comedy shows was the second ever Haunted Howler Comedy Fest I booked with my business partner KeyNote Productions here in Kelowna. We brought it the man of 10 000 Voices, Michael Windslow from Police Academy to headline and the show was so unique and funny. I am extremely proud of that show and that event and I compare almost every show I book now to that one. What's something you would tell someone who wants to go into comedy? Who's your favorite comedian? What would you tell a potential audience member for the upcoming show? Is this show part of a bigger tour? A ny other fun tidbits that would be fun to share about the upcoming event or in general? If you had to give a 30-second elevator pitch for the show, what key points would it include? |
Renowned Blues Musician Jim Byrnes Coming to Creekside - November 2016 |
When you have a birthplace of St. Louis Missouri, and you grow up regularly listening to some of the best blues musicians to walk the planet, it becomes no stretch of the imagination, that you too, fall into the blues music industry, naturally. And if your name is Jim Byrnes, this is the story of your beginnings. By the age of thirteen, Byrnes had already begun his love affair with singing and playing the blues guitar. As a teenager, he became ingrained in the culture, frequenting local clubs with his buddy where they were often the only Caucasian people in the place. According to Byrnes, they were part of the culture and so, never had any issues, "We never had any problems. We were too naïve, and had too much respect for the music and culture - they knew it, they could tell." It wasn't until he moved to Vancouver in the mid-70's after drifting across the states playing gigs and working odd jobs that he finally began to find his footing in the music industry later forming the Jim Byrnes Band in 1981 that served as a foundation for his career later on. Since then, Byrnes has gone on to play with the likes of Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Robert Cray and Taj Mahal, to name a few in the blues world. He still plays an average of 100 shows a year, and has won countless awards including 3 Junos in his career spanning 45 years. Byrnes has also succeeded as an actor appearing in TV's Wiseguy, the Highlander, and in his own variety show The Jim Byrnes Show and countless others. In recent years, Byrnes joined forces with critically acclaimed roots music producer Steve Dawson to release five albums in six years, including two-Juno award winning albums House of Refuge (2006) and Everywhere West (2011). His latest music St. Louis Times (2014), includes highly personal tracks celebrating the 250th anniversary of his birthplace: St. Louis, Missouri. The album contains original compositions along with versions of old songs from his past that were recorded by St. Louis musicians. The album explores his early roots, taking an intimate journey to recall songs associated with Little Milton, Chuck Berry and other greats. His smoky, powerful vocals, and passion for the craft can be heard on all his recordings as well as during his moving live performances. "It doesn't matter whether it's (he's doing) low down blues, gospel, R&B, old time, swing, country or good old rock and roll - when Jim Byrnes sings, it's the real deal." Jim Byrnes, American-born, Canadian-resident, has become a blues legend in his own right, able to take the story and the music to the next level truly feeling the music and bringing it to life for audiences. Creekside Theatre is proud to bring Jim Byrnes to Lake Country on Friday, November 25th at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $25 available at the door, online at www.creeksidetheatre.com or by calling 250-860-2867. |
Local Songstress Leila Neverland says "Hello" to Adele at Creekside Theatre - November 2016 |
Creekside Theatre is excited to present Leila Neverland for two nights on Friday, November 18th and Saturday, November 19th, at 7:30 pm in Lake Country for a night of original compositions and superstar Adele covers. Known for her creative and absurdly brilliant performances, Leila Neverland truly never duplicates a performance. Her unique, multi-talented artistry has allowed her to pursue many arts-related endeavours, thereby honing her craft in a holistic fashion. Not only can she play the piano with impressive skill and accuracy, but also tackles the ukulele, and has worked to shape her voice to that of a versatile singing powerhouse. Having being classically trained in music, Neverland has been performing original material for the past 15 years and has been part of the event/live music scene since she was young. Neverland describes her musical style as being "free-spirited gypsy ragtime freedom music" and sees every performance as a unique experience for both her and the audience-goers. Neverland has close to 10 albums worth of material, and has just recently put together her latest collection entitled "Ten Shades of Leila". The last few years, Neverland has been performing, writing, as well as producing original material, including her music theatre production Transcending Orbit, which was staged and produced in 2012. The production followed a young woman through her journey out of stagnancy through transcendence. Neverland is seeking grant funding in order to make the production bigger and better and reach a wider audience. Neverland's next appearances scheduled for Creekside Theatre on November 18th and 19th in Lake Country, are further testament to her versatility as a musician and multi-talented abilities as she pays tribute to superstar powerhouse songstress: Adele. Adele (Adkins), known for her powerful, vocally-charged ballads such as "Someone Like You", "Rumor Has It" and "Rolling in the Deep", and chart-topping albums is arguably one of the best female vocalists to date, making her music difficult to tackle. At the urging and encouragement from her contractor, Neverland was convinced to say "Hello" to Adele's music given her own set of powerful vocal cords and has thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. "I was asked to sing Adele because my contractor believed my lungs could manage her powerful voice. He was right. Her music is a blast!" says Neverland. Joined by fellow musicians pianist Kodi Ackerman, drummer Jay Dallomar, string duet Nils and Julia, and long-time friend and dancer Ana-Maria Kiss, Neverland will warm up with some of her original compositions and then embrace her inner Adele as she performs some of Miss Adkins' top hits with flair. Adele may not be physically visiting the Okanagan, but Leila Neverland and crew will definitely give the superstar a proper tribute that should not be missed. Come hear Leila in concert on Friday, November 18th, or Saturday, November 19th at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $25 available at the door, online at www.creeksidetheatre.com or by calling 250-860-2867. |
Ten Strings and a Goatskin Bring Their East Coast Trad/Folk/Fusion to the West - October 2016 |
Creekside Theatre is thrilled to present Ten Strings and a Goatskin for one night only on Wednesday, November 9th at 7:30 pm in Lake Country. When the phrase "East Coast Music" is used, it typically conjures up images of toe-tapping, spoon-wielding, step dancing, fiddle-playing tunes. It is a classic Canadian picture that most have had the privilege of stepping into, while others, like the members of Ten Strings and a Goatskin, have lived, and been born into. Ten Strings and a Goatskin is an exciting bilingual trad/folk/fusion trio made up of three budding musicians from Prince Edward Island. Drawing upon traditional musical arrangements, and the culture and history of the Irish, Acadian, and Francophone people in Eastern Canada, the trio successfully creates a blend of the old, with new, modern and world rhythms. The trio grew up listening to, and playing traditional Maritime folk music but, by the time they reached high school and formed their band, outside influences from other bands and worldly sound bites began to weave their way into the group's style. In the last couple years, Ten Strings and a Goatskin has been touring Europe, and North America extensively, performing to massive crowds up to 75,000 people at festivals, and intimate gatherings in smaller venues, all the while gaining new fans along the way. Their easy-going nature, and ability to connect with audiences has helped them succeed in noticeable ways winning the 2015 East Coast Music Award for World Music Recording of the Year, being nominated numerous times in 2013 for Canadian Folk Music Awards, East Coast Music Awards, Music PEI Awards, and just recently, having their newest album reach 12th position on the Billboard Sales charts as well as being nominated for four 2016 Canadian Folk Music Awards. Ten Strings is thrilled to be performing music from their newest album released in June this year, Auprès du Poêle or "Around the Woodstove". Working with producer Leonard Podolak (who produced Grammy and Juno-winning group The Duhks), Ten Strings were urged to push their music beyond the traditional expected sounds of folk music into a more rich, funky sound in hopes of enticing listeners from outside the folk realm. For the group, the album was "less anchored in traditional structures" and while they worked to hold onto classic melodic elements, as quipped by trio member Rowen Gallant, they were "not opposed to messing with things." Some unique elements on the new album include clever effects, layered vocal harmonies, B3 and a pump organ. The album features 11 tracks ranging from up beat fiddle numbers to rich, layered ballads. The band is proud of the work put into the album both in their arranging and song writing. It ultimately showcases how far the band has come since its inception. Auprès du Poêle, as described by Rowen depicts "fighting off the doldrums of winter that's built into the traditional home." Returning home after long days in the studio, the trio was inspired by the music continually being played around them, and embracing the traditional culture that is only truly discovered during the winter, around the woodstove. This remarkable young group is bringing their talents LIVE to Creekside Theatre on Wednesday, November 9th at 7:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased online at www.creeksidetheatre.com by phone at 250-766-9309 or at the door. |
'West My Friend' Set to Collaborate with Local Artists for a Fantastic Variety Night - October 2016 |
It is truly a treat to be able to enjoy live cultural and artistic performances at a local venue, especially in smaller communities. It is even more unique and special to be able to enjoy a night of variety that caters to a wider audience. Thursday, October 27th, featuring headliners West My Friend will be a night of artistic talent from Victoria-based Indie-folks-root band, local artist Kate Oswald Gibson and a dance team from Lake Country School of Dance. Lake Country Art Gallery manager and artist Petrina McNeill is especially looking forward to the event, as she has worked to bring West My Friend to Creekside Theatre in order to create a night that all ages will appreciate. Having seen them three times live, and working with them on previous events, Petrina was eager to be able to share their impressive musicianship and storytelling in the Okanagan on a larger scale. "I believe WMF would appeal to audiences of all ages - so bringing the potentially younger Lake Country School of Dance audience in plus the potentially older or more established following of Kate is a way to break down some barriers and make it a truly inter-generational experience." According to Petrina, Lake Country School of Dance has been keeping their routines top secret, but, attendees are sure to be entertained by the local school's artistry and talents led by award-winning instructor and choreographer Shani Wendell. Shani has worked hard to create and establish a successful dance studio in Lake Country opening Lake Country School of Dance in 2000, offering both recreational and competitive classes for all ages. Following Lake Country School of Dance will be Kate Oswald Gibson, local musician and writer. Bringing her wealth of experience and depth of knowledge about the Arts to the evening, Kate will be performing a set of Celtic harp numbers. Organizer Petrina McNeill first met Kate through her volunteering at the Lake Country Art Gallery and has been impressed with not only her talent, but also her overall contributions to the arts community as a whole. "Kate Oswald Gibson is a local treasure [...] she has an incredible wealth of experience, understanding and knowledge about the Arts and about people. [...] It's always fascinating to hear the conversations she has with visitors and what she brings to the community." Not only does Kate have a local connection, but also met with West My Friend in Victoria this summer while they were on tour. Spending just a few precious hours together, Kate and the band worked together to create some great collaboration pieces that will be fleshed out live on stage on October 27th and will act as an introduction of West My Friend to the local audience. Petrina explained, "As WMF are relatively new to many here, I figured that combining some of our own local talent into the event would help introduce the audiences of LCSD and Kate Oswald Gibson to an experience they might enjoy too." And while West My Friend is new to some in the area, they are already known and loved by others. The four-piece band that features Eden Oliver on guitar and vocals, Alex Rempel on mandolin and vocals, Jeff Poynter on accordion and vocals, and Nick Mintenko on double bass and vocals, is based out of Victoria and currently on a 6-week North American tour to promote their newest album entitled "The Quiet Hum". This newest album was more fun according to Eden Oliver who explained that they only included instrumentation from the four members of the band and focussed more on intricate harmonies, making it a closer representation of the group's sound live. Described as being "Indie-folk", this quartet of highly accomplished musicians brings a unique blend of instrumentation, four-part harmonies, and in-depth arrangements to the stage. The group's members are all multi-talented artists who have classical musical training, ironically though, not on the instruments they play in the band, making for an interesting and rich, blend of sounds. "We're from Victoria, BC and studied classically on instruments that we don't play in the band! Eden also is a school teacher, Alex is a budding ethnobotanist, Jeff plays for a burlesque dancer, and Nick has great hair." Their songs from the new album are both riveting and in some cases, tongue-in-cheek. Drawing inspiration from everyday life, and the role that artists and the artistic process play in society, "The Quiet Hum" is a fun combination of "classic" Indie-folk tunes and style, and interesting melodic instrumentation. West My Friend together with Lake Country Dance Studio and Kate Oswald Gibson will offer attendees "a night of variety like no other. West My Friend will be delivering a fun night of Indie-folk and will be sure to get your toes tapping". And for organizer Petrina McNeill, "celebrating the diverse offerings of the creative artistic community" at Creekside Theatre is a "gem to enjoy". But for Petrina, what really makes the difference, however, is making sure to get the ticket, and go to the event, as you may just discover something new, enjoy the company of new and old friends, and meet others who had the pleasure of sharing the experience too. "It's those unexpected moments that really make the difference between sitting at home and listening to a CD. Those magical live moments when real people are just loving what they do and sharing that experience." Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to enjoy a variety of talent on Thursday, October 27th at Creekside Theatre in Lake Country. Tickets can be purchased online at www.creeksidetheatre.com by phone 250-766-9309 or at the door. |
Fred Eaglesmith - October 2016 |
42 years on the road. On October 14th, Creekside Theatre will welcome artist Fred Eaglesmith. Known for his raw material, true-to-life narratives, and strong voice in the political arena, this Canadian artist is a seasoned performer. Often referencing and utilizing a difficult upbringing as material for songs, Eaglesmith is a big advocate for being true to one's beliefs despite the cost. After all these years touring USA, Canada and Europe - having his songs covered by some of the biggest names in music, and appearing on "The Late Show" with David Letterman - the enigmatic, countrified, Rock n' Roll troubadour: Fred Eaglesmith, is carrying on with musical wife, Tif Ginn! Based out of Ontario, this Canadian recording artist connects deeply to his audience through the lyrics and poignant issues he addresses. Having a lifetime of experiences, Eaglesmith has had his share of hardships. It is these hardships that he credits with stimulating his creativity and ultimately shaping his career as a whole. According to Eaglesmith, "the more adversity, [...] the more songs I had coming out." And for the record, he has a catalogue of more than 1000 songs that have "come out" over the years. Looking back at his career, like many artists, a large part of his journey was spent playing gritty, shady bars, while driving a converted van that used vegetable oil (used for French fries) taken from the back of restaurants, as fuel. Now, he continues to travel in a self-contained converted bus, and plays venues that many artists won't touch, averaging around 250 shows per year. He's a true old-school road-loving, authentic singer-songwriter whose heart is in the art of true rock and roll. It is because of this conviction and dedication to the authenticity of writing and performing honestly, that Eaglesmith remains distanced from the music industry; a true independent artist, setting his own standards and boundaries. "I'm trying to find a place for people to go. I've gone back to rock 'n' roll like it was in 1969. I've very much not gotten off that train. " He's been covered by countless other artists, appeared on 'The Late Show with David Letterman', and even has a musical featuring his music--this veteran singer storyteller is not to be missed. Fred Eaglesmith and Tif Gin will hit the stage in Lake Country on Friday, October 14th at 7:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased online at www.creeksidetheatre.com by phone 250-766-9309 or at the door. |
Tim Nutt - October 2016 |
Kicking off the month of October this Saturday, October 1st, at Creekside Theatre is comedian Tim Nutt. Based out of Kelowna, Tim has been on the comedy circuit since 1993 and has successfully played gigs all across Canada and the world that included Just for Laughs in Toronto and Montreal, countless festival appearances, and tours. Passionate about making people laugh, Nutt is known for making life's mundane things into something hilarious. Some of his most famous bits include: buying a plunger at Canadian Tire, going to the hockey game with his dad, and the camping trip. Nutt has found that comedy can be developed naturally by approaching life's little things from a storyteller's perspective rather than just a joke teller. "Really early on, I think one of the first bits I ever came up with was about going camping and the ridiculousness of not going to a hotel as opposed to sleeping in the woods. [...] I've always approached stand-up as a storyteller as opposed to a joke writer. So, these are my stories." Nutt, inspired by the work and comedic storytelling talents of fellow Canadian comedian Brent Butt, chooses his material and then goes about exploring it from different angles, points of view, and tries to tell it a different way each time. "The more that I choose jokes, [...] I get really bored of telling the same joke the same way, so, I keep adding to it-exploring it. " Essentially, Nutt asks himself the question: "What's going on with me?" and crafts his comedy around the answers to that question into a 35-minute set, exploring the comedic elements found in the story. Balancing his life as a comedian, husband, and father to two young daughters, Nutt enjoys a healthy balance between what he describes as a "vagabond life" and a stay-at-home Dad, while his wife works outside their home. A typical day at home for Nutt includes "mundane" activities and household chores with trips to the ski hill during the winter months. Inspired by his contemporaries and the new comedians on the circuit, Nutt is still in love with doing comedy and dislikes being called a "legend" as he feels like there's much more for him to do. Be sure to check out this first fall installment of Creekside Comedy Series this Saturday, October 1st at 7:30 pm at Creekside Theatre in Lake Country. Tickets can be purchased online at www.creeksidetheatre.com by phone 250-766-9309 or at the door. |
Creekside Theatre is Ready to Rock - September 2016 |
This Thursday night, Creekside Theatre will 'rock out' to three fantastic local rock bands: //AMISTAD//, CYNK, and Windmills. All three groups have a distinct, unique rock sound that combined, will create an elaborate musical tapestry for the audience this week. The trio of young talent will showcase the different sounds of rock music ranging from punk, alternative sounds from CYNK, alternative, unique rock sounds of //AMISTAD//, and polished, lyrically driven, Indie rock of Windmills. //AMISTAD//, a local Vernon group, began taking shape when three of the members were in elementary school. Now in high school, these young talented musicians are shaping the alternative rock music landscape at a rapid pace. The last few years have been filled with a new CD release (2015), a new EP release earlier this year (2016), competing in the CBC Music Searchlight contest, and most excitedly, winning the Telus Storyhive grant to produce their music video for Human, their second single off their EP, Talk Peace to a Wolf. For Aidan (lead vocals, keys, ukulele, guitar), Nolan (bass, trumpet, vocals), Carson (drums, percussion), Craig (piano, synth, organ, vocals), and Eli (guitar, violin, vocals), they are eager to continue in their musical journey, and continue to grow as musicians and performers. If the last few years are any indication, the sky is the limit for the band as they set their sights on a solid long-term career in the music industry playing venues ranging in size from the Orpheum to the 02 Arena. In addition to //AMISTAD//, Thursday's 'Rock the Block' will feature CYNK, a 4-piece Lake Country band who burst onto the scene first playing Music in the Park, and IPE with their edgy, punk alternative rock style. Also formed through connecting in high school, this group of guys has been working hard to write and release their own material in a dynamic way. Not forgetting their roots, earlier this year, CYNK filmed, with the help of a friend, their first music video highlighting the Lake Country and Oyama region hoping to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of the area. CYNK released their first album Strings this spring and is eagerly working on new material and performing local shows. To round out the trio of young talent, Windmills will be taking the stage Thursday night as well. Since going solo in 2012, one-man band Cory Myraas has been honing his craft, creating a unique style of alternative rock using looping technology in combination with classically produced sound. Soulmen Blues Brothers Interview - September 2016 |
In just a few short days, the stage at Creekside Theatre in Lake Country will be filled with the sounds of a high energy duo and band: The Soulmen. Formerly known as "The Blues Brothers Too", Ian McDonnell and Grant Eisworth have rebranded as "The Soulmen" and are in the process of adding different elements to their future shows. In anticipation of their upcoming show on Saturday, September 24th, Eisworth was happy to give some insight into their act and answer a few questions. First of all, can you tell readers a little about how you formed the SoulMen: Blues Brothers Tribute band and your background? Well, so many people kept coming up and requesting that the Blues Brothers perform again, that we decided to try it again at another event which we were invited to perform at. We kept getting so many invitations to perform (and offers to be paid as well), that we decided we couldn't lip sync and we had to sing live (it's harder to lip sync than sing live anyway believe it or not). The rest is history, we keep getting booking requests from all over Canada and the US, but we prefer to mostly stay and perform close to home around western Canada and western US. For someone who's never attended one of your shows, how would you describe your show and style? As a Blues Brothers Tribute band, have you tried to remain as true to the original Blues Brothers as possible, or do you add in your own flair to the performance here and there? What was it about the Blues Brothers movies and performances in the shows that inspired you, or spurred you on to form a tribute band? What is one of your favourite songs to perform? How long have you worked together with your band members and fellow Blues Brother? Do you have any crazy stories from touring you'd like to share? What's next for the band? |
