CN has awarded the rail removal contract to Westcan Rail Ltd. and crews are working to remove the rails starting in Kelowna and moving north to Coldstream.
There may be some traffic delays (20-30 min) at road crossings in Lake Country this weekend (Saturday, Nov. 28-Sunday, Nov 29). Plan your travel and route accordingly (Beaver Lake Rd., Woodsdale Rd., Lodge Rd., Oyama Rd.)
The rail corridor is still active and there may be some intermittent rail traffic associated with the contract for removal of rails and ties and remediation of the corridor. The public is requested not to use the corridor while the work is in progress.
