As life becomes busier and every minute in the day counts, residents want to limit time spent in a vehicle, preferring to stay closer to home for their goods and services. This week is the perfect opportunity for the entire community to shop local as we celebrate small business week in Lake Country! Support your favorite restaurant, find some fresh produce at one of the many farm gate stands or discover a new home-based business that you didn’t already know about.

This year the District of Lake Country along with the Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission and it’s partners are offering a hybrid “Business Walks” event. This hybrid model consists of an online survey for businesses (open October 19-31, 2021) as well as in-person door-to-door visits with businesses in our community on October 19, 2021. Following all public health orders, representatives from the District and Lake Country Chamber of Commerce will be asking businesses questions about COVID-19 impacts, employee retention and recruitment, as well as general business challenges and future strategic plans.

If you operate a small business in Lake Country please consider filling in the short on-line survey by October 31st. Your input is important, and we want to better understand how you want to be supported now and into the future.

Thank you Lake Country businesses! Not only are you providing goods and services to the community but for your ongoing efforts to make it easy for everyone to #sipeatshopbe local.
