Thinking about adding a legal suite to your property?
Have a look at the Geographical Information Services (GIS) map and search by address to see what the zoning designation is on your property, and then see the District's Zoning Bylaw to see if you can have a legal suite.
The District has also published a bulletin on legal suites in Lake Country, following Council's Secondary and Accessory Suite Policy.
To apply for a legal suite, please fill out the District's building permit application form and submit it at the Municipal Hall. Use this Checklist to help you through the suite application process. Building Services staff can also help if you would like to decommission an existing suite.
