Permissive Tax Exemption

The District of Lake Country recognizes the significant value of volunteers, groups and agencies to the spiritual, educational, social, cultural, and physical well-being of the community.  A permissive tax exemption is a means for Council to support organizations within the community that further Council’s objective to enhance the quality of life while  delivering services economically to citizens of Lake Country.

 

Applications for tax exemption are due the second week of August. ...

Do you use or plan to use the Okanagan Centre Beach Trail?  If you answered "Yes" - WALC (Walk Around Lake Country) would like your feedback and thoughts, on how you use the trail along with suggestions for trail enhancements. Your input is important and will assist WALC  plan for any future upgrades. 

The online survey will be open throughout the month of August. If you would prefer a paper copy please contact communications@lakecountry.bc.ca

The Perseids are coming and we’d like you and your family experience this annual celestial show!

 

Kopje Regional Park along Carrs Landing Road in Lake Country is the perfect dark, sky location to view the meteor shower. 

 

The Perseids will be at their peak on Thursday, August 12.  So from 8 – 11 p.m., bring a headlamp, blanket or reclining lawn chair and stake your free spot in the park’s large, grassy area. Then gaze at the heavens and enjoy whatever the Perseids have to offer.

I'm A Wake! campaign advocates for the lakes and raises boater awareness

A personified wake advocates for Kalamalka and Wood Lake this summer. He’s a fun guy to have around, but he’s clumsy and causes unintentional damage. If you love the lake, take care of it. Careful boating will keep the water fun and beautiful for everyone and local wildlife too. It’s a responsibility we all share.

 

Power boats are encouraged to stick to water deeper than 30 ft and have a great time. Local wakeboarders know the wake gets better in deeper waters.  The Okanagan Collaborative...
