Great news Lake Country: as of Tuesday morning, all Lake Country properties will be removed from evacuation alert. The Clarke Creek wildfire has been classified as under control and due to the hard work of our firefighters and BC Wildfire, I’m thankful we can start to get back to a normal routine. On Saturday afternoon I walked to the Salty Carmel in Okanagan Centre. It was the perfect vantage point to watch residents as they returned home. There was cheering, vehicles honking and kids wasting no time and jumping into the lake. It was an emotional day, tears of sadness for the three homes lost, coupled with tears of happiness as friends and neighbours reconnected and returned home.
