Creekside Theatre reopens this fall to once again bring the Lake Country community together to enjoy music, comedy, magic, film, and theatre.

Yet amidst our joy of shared theatre experience and laughter, we must acknowledge that the last year and a half has taken a toll on the mental health of many within the community.

While the need for positive discussion around mental health has long been needed, this need has increased since the beginning of the pandemic.

The District of Lake Country is observing the first National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on Thursday, September 30 by closing all non-essential operations.

Below is Mayor James Baker's statement in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, given at Council's Sept. 21 meeting.

“On September 30, 2021, the District of Lake Country will close non-essential operations and lower our flag to half-mast at Municipal Hall in recognition of the first National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.
