January 22, 2015 marks five years since the public art gallery in Lake Country opened its doors on January 22, 2010.

These five years have been busy with rich and varied art exhibitions, many workshops and artists talks, film series, candlelight dinners, business gatherings, fundraising events, trivia nights, youth programs, the art bazaar, family days, demonstrations, and much more.

Alternative Approval Process for Okanagan Rail Corridor purchase begins

District of Lake Country Council initiated an alternative approval process (AAP) today seeking elector approval to borrow up to $2.6 million to fund 50 per cent of the purchase of the discontinued CN rail line within District of Lake Country's jurisdiction.

"Anyone that supports the borrowing for this purchase does not need to do anything," said Reyna Seabrook, Corporate Services Manager.

Municipal Hall CLOSED Jan 5 due to extreme weather

Stay safe and stay home today. Due to the significant snowfall that continues through Monday, January 5, 2015 Municipal Hall in Lake Country will be CLOSED.

Essential services will remain in operation and snow removal crews will continue to focus on main routes.

Schools throughout the Central Okanagan will also be closed January 5.

Snow removal crews continue to work non-stop to maintain Lake Country roads in a passable condition.

Thank you to everyone for patience and cooperation!

During the current extreme snow event the crews have been focused on high traffic roads... and will service local streets and residential neighbourhoods later based on their priority status. Residents can help the snow clearing process by moving their vehicles off roads so crews can more efficiently clear the roads.
