DOWNGRADED - Boil Water Notice on Beaver Lake source

The District of Lake Country in conjunction with Interior Health has issued a BOIL WATER NOTICE for customers on the BEAVER LAKE SOURCE. Due to a malfunction on the automatic chlorination system, the result was a loss of disinfection.

The District of Lake Country and Interior Health recommend ALL customers in the affected area drink boiled water or a safe alternative.

Until further notice, water intended for the following uses should be boiled for one minute:

In the on-going effort to engage residents, the District of Lake Country sent a community survey to 1,500 randomly selected residents in May 2015. In total, 593 surveys were completed and mailed back giving a response rate of 40% and ensuring a statistically valid sample. All respondents have been guaranteed anonymity, with the consultant (Discovery Research Ltd.) collecting and analysing all responses.

Bond Road watermain upgrade project underway

The Bond Road watermain upgrade project scheduled for the summer of 2015 has started.

Residents will have noticed some construction signage in the neighbourhood, and individual property owners/residents will be advised when the works will affect their property directly. The contractor, Colmar Construction, is onsite Monday, July 6 to begin installing drywells for drainage improvements on Bond Road from Davidson to La Cresta. Campfire ban in effect noon Friday, July 3

Starting this Friday, all campfires will be prohibited throughout all Central Okanagan municipalities. That's the earliest in recent memory and a week and a half earlier than last year (July 14th).

The ban takes effect at noon Friday, July 3rd and coincides with the similar action announced by the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations across the Kamloops Fire Centre area within BC Parks, Crown and private lands. The ban will remain in effect until further notice.
