Great news Lake Country: as of Tuesday morning, all Lake Country properties will be removed from evacuation alert. The Clarke Creek wildfire has been classified as under control and due to the hard work of our firefighters and BC Wildfire, I’m thankful we can start to get back to a normal routine. Please refer to cordemergency.ca for status updates.

I’m so appreciative of our community who supported one another to get through a very stressful time. Many of our local businesses gave up their time...

Chief Lee and I are still hopeful and working as hard as we can to allow all remaining properties back home by Saturday night. Keep in mind this can only be done if it is safe to do so.

As everyone is anxious to go home – it’s important to remember that there might be property and/or vehicle damage. You might see yellow tape placed by the fire department on your home. Please note...

I want the community to know, and be assured, that staff and I continue to work hard to get more people home later this afternoon. New information will be released on properties permitted to go home through cordemergency.ca

Residents on Okanagan Lake water source were switched to Beaver Lake water source when the Lake Country Wildfire was first identified. The switchover was necessary to assure adequate water pressure while suppressing the wildfire. Okanagan Lake water customers have been...
