Development Permit & Variance Application:
Council approved the application from Woodsdale Store & Gas Bar for development of a one‐storey commercial building that would have a convenience store, additional commercial retail unit, and a gas bar. The variance to the Minimum Landscape Buffer, Bottom Wood Lake Road frontage and rear yard was considered to accommodate the parking area and adequate room for vehicle movement. Although the applicants addressed Council, there was no public comment.

LAKE COUNTRY – Interior Health, the District of Lake Country and the Regional District of Central Okanagan are monitoring a large algae bloom on Wood Lake. While the bloom contains blue-green algae, testing indicates the risk to the public remains low. The water is considered safe for use.

Starting the week of May 17, 2021 work will be done to replace the watermain along Chase Road in the area of Monte Bella. Traffic will be slowed while the construction is going on. Construction is expected to be completed before the end of July 2021 and the DLC projects page will be updated with information as the project progresses.

Council heard details on the application to resolve several outstanding land issues at 16012 Oyama Road. Resolving the issues will allow the property owner to complete a subdivision in accordance with historical ALR exclusion approval and to realign OCP and zoning map boundaries to reflect existing uses and a contemplated boundary adjustment subdivision.
