District of Lake Country and Shaw Communications Partner to Offer Free Public WiFi

Lake Country will soon enjoy free public WiFi thanks to an agreement between the District of Lake Country and Shaw Communications Inc. This partnership will give Lake Country residents and visitors free Shaw Go WiFi guest access, as well as complimentary access to Shaw subscribers. WiFi access points will be installed throughout the community in the coming months, including the Town Centre, Municipal Hall, and public parks.

Sponsorship makes Creekside Theatre shows accessible to individuals with hearing loss.

The Creekside Theatre is pleased to announce the installation of the Auris Loop assistive listening system through a sponsorship generously provided by Lakeside Hearing & Tinnitus Centre. RCMP School Liaison role is crucial to the community

Rumours have been circulating that the School Liaison Officer position in Lake Country will not be funded after this school year. Lake Country Mayor and Council put such a high priority on this role that in 2008 they made a formal motion to ensure that the role of School Liaison Officer was funded when a new RCMP member was hired.

The School Liaison Officer is a general duty member during the summer months and outside of school hours.
