Developed over the past three years, Lake Country's Transportation for Tomorrow 20-year infrastructure plan now has the go ahead with one of the final steps being the adoption of a funding strategy so citizens can immediately realize the benefits of the plan.

A series of Council meetings have been scheduled for deliberation on the 2016 Budget considerations.

Rail removal could cause traffic delays at road crossings Nov 28-29 in Lake Country

The rails are coming up along the Okanagan Rail Corridor!

CN has awarded the rail removal contract to Westcan Rail Ltd. and crews are working to remove the rails starting in Kelowna and moving north to Coldstream.

There may be some traffic delays (20-30 min) at road crossings in Lake Country this weekend (Saturday, Nov. 28-Sunday, Nov 29). Plan your travel and route accordingly (Beaver Lake Rd., Woodsdale Rd., Lodge Rd., Oyama Rd.)

Work underway on Okanagan Rail Corridor

CN has awarded the rail removal contract to Westcan Rail Ltd. Residents of Lake Country may have noticed some preparatory hand work being done recently along portions of the rail corridor. The rails will be removed starting in Kelowna and moving north to Coldstream. The ties will be removed at a later date followed by work on crossings and intersections.

The rail corridor is still active and there may be some intermittent rail traffic associated with the contract for removal of the rails and ties...

Public Art Call: Lake Country Greeting Cards

The Lake Country Public art Commission is inviting Lake Country artists to submit artworks for the 2015 Christmas card and Thank You cards.

Each year Christmas cards are sent by the Lake Country Mayor and staff to various other municipalities and other correspondents; while Thank You cards are used throughout the year. An artwork from the submissions will be selected to be printed on these greeting cards.
