Lake Country to receive funding to update agricultural water meters

Project approved under Canada's Small Communities Fund
Residents of Winfield, Carr's Landing and Okanagan Centre will benefit from updated water meters thanks to joint funding from the governments of Canada and British Columbia through the Small Communities Fund.
The backflow prevention devices on agricultural connections being installed in these Lake Country communities will help protect the water system from contamination. This project requires updating approximately 200 water meters with new ones....
Emergency Support Services Celebrates Volunteers

A core group of dedicated volunteers are always ready to answer the call when anyone in the Central Okanagan needs help because they've been displaced by an emergency.
Members of the Central Okanagan Emergency Support Services organization, more often known by the acronym E-S-S, gathered last evening to recognize the service milestones of some of their volunteers.
This year, 21 ESS members provided a combined 125 years of service through the volunteer organization.

The Okanagan Indian Band injunction claim on the sale and purchase agreement of the Okanagan Rail Corridor has been dismissed.B.C.
