Campfire Ban Ends Open Burning Delayed

Effective noon today, the ban on campfires will be lifted in most Central Okanagan areas. Campfires are not permitted at any time within the City of Kelowna.

The ban on campfires within local government fire jurisdictions in the Central Okanagan has been in place since July 7th. Forecast showers and cooler temperatures are expected to reduce the potential fire threat.

With construction set to start on the Okanagan Rail Trail project, residents are invited to have a look at the latest plans for the trail and learn more about the upcoming work at three information sessions in early October.

UPDATE: Water Main Break on Seaton Road

The repairs have been made and the water is back on for all affected customers.

Lake Country crews are out repairing a water main break this morning, September 20. Properties on Seaton Road from Dick Road north to Wilson Road are affected; notices are being hand delivered to the affected customers. It is expected to be out from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm Wednesday, September 20.
