PSA: Boil Water Notice on Eastside Private water utility

Public Service Announcement: The Interior Health Authority has issued a Boil Water Notice for Eastside Utilities effective immediately.

Eastside Utilities and the Interior Health Authority recommend that customers drink boiled water or a safe alternative until further notice.

Water intended for drinking, washing fruits or vegetables, making juices, ice, or infant formulas, and for brushing teeth should be boiled for a minimum of one minute.

Okanagan Centre Fire Recycling Pick Up

Lake Country residents in the Okanagan Centre Fire evacuation order area (shown in red in map below), your next regular recycling collection is Monday, July 31st.

The collection contractor OK Environmental Waste Systems will pick up any additional recycling at no extra cost!

If you have extra material place it beside your recycling cart in clear bags or stack cardboard in boxes.

All sandbags must be registered as soon as possible by using the Sandbag App at or by calling 250-470-0674.

Under no circumstances should sandbags be emptied into any creeks, lakes, wetland, beaches or other watercourses as outlined in the Water Sustainability Act. The impact can destroy fish habitat and affect drinking water supply, infrastructure, flood control, navigation and recreational activities.
