The second annual Lake Country Indoor Children's Festival presented by TD Bank is being hosted at the Lake Country Community Complex on Saturday, February 25th from 11am to 3pm. With over 40 children's activities a Global Children's Village including multi-cultural activities, Telus PureFibre Science Zone, face painting, caricatures, London Drugs Canada150 booth, Bouncy Castle City, live entertainment and games, to name a few there will be something for everyone in the family.

Water outage in part of Lakestone February 15 to repair water main leak

Please be advised the District of Lake Country is planning a water outage on Wednesday February 15, 2017 between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm to repair a water main leak. This outrage will affect approximately 38 homes located on a portion of Lakestone Drive , Travertine Drive and Granite Road. Notices have been hand delivered to the affected customers. Please keep enough water on hand as water service interruption may be longer than anticipated.

2017 Budget approved with 3.23 percent tax increase

After Council's third session of deliberation, the approval of Lake Country's 2017 Operating and Capital Budget along with a five year financial plan will result in a 3.23 percent tax increase, which equates to approximately $61.00 to an average single-family home.

The increase is made up of 1.5 percent for the Transportation for Tomorrow roads infrastructure program and 1.73 percent general tax increase. The BC Assessment completed roll figures show that the 2017 tax base increased by 4.13 percent.
