Coordinated governance just the ticket for Rail Trail

Elected leaders from the participating jurisdictions with land ownership on the Okanagan Rail Trail met Friday to discuss options and goals for proceeding with a coordinated approach to governance, operation and administration of this regional rail trail.

As with other policy and financial decisions regarding the corridor, the elected political leaders of the owner jurisdictions will ultimately approve the coordinated governance model for the corridor.

Snow clearing priorities around Lake Country

During a snow event, everyone wishes that their road would be plowed first. However, it is necessary to follow established service routes according to priority, in order to complete District-wide snow removal for all roads in as timely a manner as possible.

Snow removal and ice control services are provided by contract with Digg'N 4U. Snow removal does not necessarily mean "bare pavement" but attempts to maintain roads in passable condition. See the Winter Maintenance Priority Map for snow removal.

In June the emergency deluge system was triggered and thousands of gallons of water dropped onto the Creekside Theatre floor, rigging, drapes and seating.
