Water main break: Notice of unplanned water outage in Winfield March 6, 2018

A water main has been inadvertently hit at the corner of Glenmore and Seaton.  There will be no water to the following area: 

  • Corner of Glenmore and Seaton west to Read Road, north all along Read including Winview Road.
  • Corner of Read Road and Okanagan Centre Road East, north to the Jardine Pump station at 10131 Jardine Road. 

Water will be out for an undetermined amount of time.

Water supply, when resumed, may be discolored due to deposits in pipes – it is not harmful as the water has been...

Due to an advertising error, Public Notice of Consideration of Temporary Use Permit (TP2017-003) was not included in the February 28th edition of the local Lake Country Calendar newspaper, and therefore this item has been removed from the March 6th Council Agenda.  


Council has been asked to approve a Temporary Use Permit to allow for rock crushing and screening of material at the site of the subject properties.

2018 Budget approved with 3.5 percent tax increase

Lake Country, BC - After Council’s deliberation February 20th, the approval of Lake Country’s 2018 Operating and Capital Budget – along with a five year financial plan – will result in a 3.5 percent tax increase, which equates to approximately $76.00 to an average single-family home (valued at $656,000 for 2018). There are no increases in water, sewer or garbage/recycling fees for 2018.
