When an emergency strikes, you and your family may only be given a moment’s notice to stay safe.

May 6 to 12 is Emergency Preparedness Week in Canada and with the Central Okanagan Emergency Operations Centre already up and running on behalf of local governments to support localized incidents, it’s a reminder that there is no better reason to prepare your family to respond to any emergency than now.

No imminent risk of flooding in Lake Country

Freshet is underway with peak runoff flows from higher elevation snow melt to the valley bottom estimated to occur within the next three weeks. With warmer weather being experienced and rainfall in the forecast, residents throughout the Central Okanagan are asked to be alert and, more importantly, to prepare as these factors can affect the risk of flooding.

As of Friday, April 27th there is no imminent risk of flooding in Lake Country.

Community invited to help celebrate 2018 Canada Day in Lake Country

The Rotary Club of Lake Country invites local businesses and non-profit groups to help celebrate Canada Day in Lake Country.

Over 2,000 people attended last year’s Canada 150 Celebration, at Swalwell Park, which featured our annual Rotary pancake breakfast, as well as, a diverse line up of stage performers, vendor exhibits, interactive sports and arts activities and the very popular Movie-in-the Park.

Pursuant to Section 26 of the Community Charter, notice is given that the District has renewed a Lease with Caroline MacPherson for the use of the leased area (outlined in red on the map below) of 3165 Hill Road to provide 28 parking stalls for the exclusive use of the Kangaroo Creek Farm.  Access to the leased area will be through a shared-use access (outlined in yellow on the map below) with the neighbouring property and not exclusive to the lessee.
