The following is an overview of the current project work, construction environmental monitoring and offsetting of project impact. Instream work began Saturday, August 7, 2021.
The Bottom Wood Lake Road Improvement project will provide frontage improvements to the new H.S. Grenda Middle School and will provide sidewalks, streetlights, bike lanes, road renewal and utility upgrades....

Notice of emergency water repair on Greenhow as of 10:30am Wednesday, August 11, 2021.
All residents in this area shown on the map (Greenhow north of Lloyd and Young) will have little or no water pressure while the repair to the water distribution system is made.
We expect water pressure to return by 2:30 this afternoon. This impacts all properties on Greenhow north of Lloyd and Young; water crew members have hand-delivered notification to properties impacted.

The District of Lake Country recognizes the significant value of volunteers, groups and agencies to the spiritual, educational, social, cultural, and physical well-being of the community. A permissive tax exemption is a means for Council to support organizations within the community that further Council’s objective to enhance the quality of life while delivering services economically to citizens of Lake Country.
Applications for tax exemption are due the second week of August. ...

Kopje Regional Park along Carrs Landing Road in Lake Country is the perfect dark, sky location to view the meteor shower.
The Perseids will be at their peak on Thursday, August 12. So from 8 – 11 p.m., bring a headlamp, blanket or reclining lawn chair and stake your free spot in the park’s large, grassy area. Then gaze at the heavens and enjoy whatever the Perseids have to offer.
