Pretty Road Improvement Project starts Monday, March 25

Pretty Road between Middleton Road South and 100m west of Oceola Road will be closed to through traffic Monday, March 25 to September 6, 2024. 

Detours will include:

  • Hwy 97 and Robinson Road
  • Oceola Rd, OK Centre Road East and Robinson Road.

 Financial Plan

Council adopted the five-year financial plan that includes the 2024 budget Visit Let’s Talk – Lake Country for full details on the budget.  

Development Permit with Variance

Council approved the Development Permit with a Variance at 10660 Highway 97. The development permit allows for the applicant to construct a 76-unit townhouse development. The variance accommodates the building height to increase from 2 storeys to 3 storeys.

2024 Budget approved by Council

The 2024 Operating and Capital Budget was first put to council’s consideration at first reading on December 19th, 2023. Between then and the Special Council Meeting for 2nd & 3rd readings held on February 27, 2024, Council welcomed community input on the proposed budget through the Let’s Talk platform and the town hall held on January 23, 2024.

Boil Water Notice lifted March 15

Effective immediately, the District of Lake Country in conjunction with Interior Health has DOWNGRADED the BOIL WATER NOTICE that resulted from the March 12th water system outage. The Boil Water Notice impacted customers who typically receive water from the Beaver Lake water distribution source and has been DOWNGRADED to a Water Quality Advisory. 

Recent testing and monitoring has shown no bacteria are present within the distribution network and disinfection (chlorine) levels are normal.
