Committees & Commissions

The District has a number of committees and commissions. The term "committee" is commonly used to refer to all these bodies although there are three primary types of committees (standing, select and commission) that may be established by the Mayor or the Mayor and Council.

How do I Apply for a Committee?

If you are interested in applying to volunteer for a Committee, please forward an email expressing your interest in a specific Committee to the Corporate Services Department at admin@lakecountry.bc.ca. We also recommend contacting the Chair of the Committee to find out more about the mandate and responsibilities of the Committee you are interested in and to inquire if there are any positions available.

To apply to be a part of the Committee, submit your application in writing to the District of Lake Country Corporate Services Department. All appointments to Committees must be approved by Council resolution.
